ERICH K. GROMMET, PH.D., BCBA-D, LBA, LP

I earned my Ph.D. in Psychology at The Graduate Center of the City University of New York (CUNY) in the Behavior Analysis Training Area and completed a post-doctoral fellowship in Intellectual and Neurodevelopmental Disabilities at Nationwide Children’s Hospital/Ohio State University. I am a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (Doctoral level; BCBA-D), an Alabama Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA), and a New York Licensed Psychologist (LP).

Much of my research focuses on temporal factors involved in human learning, but I am also interested in diagnosis and treatment of developmental disability and effective methodology for training parents and staff to engage in evidence-based treatment when working with people diagnosed with developmental disability.

CURRENT PROJECTS

  1. Examination of the effect of waitlists on caregivers' treatment decisions for children newly diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder

  2. Dissociation of “can’t do” (skill absent from repertoire) behavior from “won’t do” (skill in repertoire) behavior in children who have been identified as exhibiting substantial levels of noncompliance with requests from adults

Students interested in assisting with these projects who can contribute ten or more hours a week to research-related activities are encouraged to contact me. Many undergraduate research assistants qualify for a stipend (i.e., money) through the McNair Scholars Program.
